CareRest is an app built to support family caregivers of people living with dementia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your health-related data with care.

What data we collect

When you use CareRest, we collect the following information:

• Email address and display name (for your account)
• Patient name and diagnosis information you provide
• Sleep logs: hours slept, quality ratings, night awakenings, wandering events, and notes
• Caregiver check-ins: stress level, hours slept, and caregiving difficulty
• Medication names, dosages, and schedule times
• Sundowning and behavioral observation logs
• Device time zone (used to display dates correctly)

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the features of CareRest. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described below.

Third-party services

• Firebase (Google): user authentication and data storage
• Google Gemini AI: generates personalized sleep tips using anonymized data only
• Groq AI: fallback AI service, same anonymized data policy
